Salty Dog's Golden Paws Program

We at Salty Dog Rescue love our seniors- both dogs and humans!

We keep hearing from the seniors in the community that they would love the companionship of a dog, however they are worried what would happen to the dog if they could no longer care for it, they are on a fixed income and cannot afford it, or they are unable to transport it.

Meanwhile, senior dogs at the shelters are some of the most vulnerable. People generally want puppies, not seniors. Therefore they frequently end up on euthanasia lists or in bad situations.

We developed our Golden Paws program to solve both situations. Golden Paws pairs senior humans and dogs together. We pay for all medical, food, toys, etc. We will pick up and take the dog to their medical appointments. In return, both seniors have loyal companionship. If something happens to the human and they are no longer able to care for their senior dog, we take it in and find a new home for it.
